I am originally from Milwaukee, WI and I graduated in May 2014 from Rice University (Houston, TX) with a BA in Economics / Asian Studies and a Business Minor. I have been studying Spanish all my life and started taking Mandarin in high school, continuing on with both languages in college. I studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain and Shanghai, China. I have prior experience with Spanish translation: During the summer of 2013, I worked at a trade association in DC and translated daily correspondences with contacts in Latin American governments and trade associations, as well as documents, laws, and news articles.
I have translated various documents as a freelancer, including:
- Employee exit survey (ENGgt;ES) for a marketing analytics firm in order to extend their research to the Spanish-speaking community
- Official documents including birth certificates, marriage licenses, business licenses and academic transcripts (ESP/ZHgt;EN, ZHgt;ES)
- Audit report for a Chinese company (ZHgt;EN) including financial statements and extensive notes
I currently work in the forensic accounting/legal field and do translations part-time. Please check out my website for more information or feel free to contact me!
